About Me

I think I've always been a petrolhead.... my dad never understood my fascination with F1, glued to the telly watching cars "drive around in a circle".

What really caught my attention was the excitement of touring cars in the 90's watching various rep mobiles and the odd estate car on its roof.

My obsession with Le Mans prototypes started my impressive collection of slot cars and now I am looking to realise my dream of painting to me what are some of the most eye catching and important cars and race cars ever made. I just wish I had started earlier!

I attended Art College and later University to study technical illustration, but the shift towards to computer and mac based illustration really didn't suit me and I lost interest.

Much later I revisited this much missed pursuit having worked mainly in offices in business consulting I had to scratch my creative itch!

What's the process?

I have always used the same medium, watercolour or gouache on board with a combination of airbrush and brush work.

I work from photos, either taken by myself or images I find in books. I have such a waiting list of cars I want to paint I am not sure I will ever run out of inspiration!
